Özet (EN)
In this thesis, buoyancy driven natural convection is studied numerically in a partitioned andnon-partitioned closed cavity. The hot and cold wall in the cavity are kept constanttemperature, and the other walls isolated adiabatically. The effect of Rayleigh number on the natural convection is examined in a non-partionedcavity. In partitioned cavity, the effect height, width, place and the number of the blockswhich realises partitioning and the effect of Rayleigh number on natural convection isexamined. The analysed flow fields in the study are discretised with the Gambit programme. After, thesemodels are trasferred to Fluent programme and boundary conditions are given; the equationsof continuity, momentum and energy are solved numerically in this programme. In turbulencesolutions, standart κ-ε model is used. Solutions are taken in steady state conditions with finitedifference method. After, results of the solutions are presented by using isotermal and stream function curvesboth in laminar and turbulent flow in two and three dimension. Keywords: Natural convection, closed cavity, Rayleigh number.
