Abstract (EN)
Today, source faults of the major earthquakes are estimated thanks to the studies of active tectonics and earthquake geology. It is important to determine the slip rate by measuring the lateral and vertical displacements across the faults and estimate the recurrence intervals of the large earthquakes occurring on each fault segment forming the fault zone for earthquake hazard analysis. In recent, it was observed that active surface deformations occurred parallel to Bolvadin fault in the area between the southern part of the Bolvadin center and the northeast section in the center of Afyon-Akşehir Graben. Breaks in the garden walls, underground sewerage, and water lines, cracks in buildings, crashes in roads happened due to the surface deformations along a line from the large part of settlement areas in the center of Bolvadin. It was seen that the block remaining in the southeast fell along the surface deformations in the form of splits and cracks in the line. When a fixed GNSS point in this region, which was set in 2014 was examined, approximately 20 cm vertical movement was monitored compared to the other areas. In this thesis, in order to determine the cause and the amount of the current surface deformations in the vicinity of Bolvadin, brass rods were mounted on electric poles located on a 2 km line in 3 different regions around Bolvadin and 2 campaign measurements were made in August 2016 and 2017. According to the findings, vertical deformation rate between 5 and 65 mm / year was calculated along the deformation zone.
