Abstract (EN)
It has been revealed in many literature studies that there are problems in the transport of boron (B) to the generative part in plants. In this study, which was carried out with corn plants in greenhouse conditions to determine the role of boron in the transport of boron to the grain, different application methods (control, soil, leaf, soil+leaf) and increasing doses of B applications (0,1,2.5,10,20 mg kg-1 and 300 mg L-1) was made. Harvesting was carried out at different growth periods (V3, V6, V9, V10 and grain formation period) of the corn plant. In the study, the effects of applications on chlorophyll level (SPAD value), dry matter yield, B concentration in green parts and grain, plant parameters, N concentration in green parts and grain were determined. In addition, the effects of the applications on some quality parameters such as the amount of starch and crude protein in the grain, the vitality of the pollen in the flower and the production amounts were also examined. According to the data obtained from the study, it was determined that the effect of B application in increasing doses with different application methods on the green part SPAD value, dry matter yield, boron concentration and nitrogen concentration was statistically significant at the 1% level. In addition to this information, it was determined that green component B concentrations increased with increasing dose of B compared to the control (B0), and the highest increases were observed in soil + leaf combination applications. With the growth of the plant, an increase in the green part B concentration was determined and the highest B concentration increase was determined in the cob leaf sampled in the V10 period. In addition, the most significant increase in grain B concentration compared to B0 application was 62% in TB20+YB and 55% in TB10+YB applications, in nitrogen concentration with 38% in TB2.5. It was determined that there was an increase in starch ratio by 13% in YB application. Keywords: Boron, application methods, yield-quality parameters, pollen vitality levels and production amounts
