Abstract (EN)
In this study; dental porcelain powders are produced to contain oxides of SiO₂, Al₂O₃, K₂O, Na₂O, CaO, ZrO2 in different proportions of B2O3 (wt. 0-2-4-6%). Powder production consists of recipe forming, melting, fritizing and grinding stages. Dense dental porcelain blocks were produced by applying heat at 900°C for 10 min. after shaping to the powders. SEM and XRD analyzes were performed on dental porcelain powders and blocks. Firing shrinkage, density, hardness, abrasion and compression tests were performed on the produced dental porcelain samples and their mechanical properties were tested. In addition, a prototype study was carried out by applying dental porcelain powders on a metal support. The highest dimensional shrinkage and the highest density (96%) after sintering were seen in DPB6 sample containing 6 wt.% B2O3. While the hardness value of the boron-free DBP0 material was approximately 741 HV, it increased to around 1160 HV for the DBP6 dental porcelain. The abrasion resistance for these materials was determined as 6.06x10-4 mm3/Nm and 1.43x10-4 mm3/Nm, respectively. While the compressive strength was approximately 75 MPa for DPB0, this value increased up to 118 MPa for DPB6 dental porcelain. According to the results, both density and mechanical properties were improved depending on the increased amount of B2O3. It was determined that the best dental porcelain composition was DPB6 powder recipe containing wt. 6% B2O3.
