Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to determine the effects of different concentrations of boron on the anatomy and physiological structure of durum wheat (Triticum durum L.). For the study, the seedlings were grown in pot medium and three groups were formed in total. The first group of seedlings was given only distilled water, the second group was given a dose of Hoagland boron solution (0,046 mM) and the third group was given a double dose of Hoagland boron solution (0,092 mM). Applications were made in the form of watering the soil and spraying the seedlings. When the seedlings reached a certain size, samples were taken from the leaves for anatomical examinations and fixed in 70% ethanol. Transverse and superficial sections were taken from the fixed leaf material and necessary cell measurements were made with the help of micrometric oculars. In order to determine the effect of boron application on the physiological structure of the plant, chlorophyll determination was made in the leaf. As a result of the study, it was determined that the anatomical and physiological findings were similar to each other. Both anatomical and physiological findings decreased in the treatment groups compared to the no boron group, but as the hoagland solution increased, the values increased and the values increased towards the no boron group. This suggests that the amount of boron needed for the growth and development of the durum wheat plant needs a dose higher than twice the dose of hoangland solution. The increase in the application groups compared to the no boron group in the trachea measurements confirms this view. It is thought that the increase detected in the trachea measurements in the application groups in the study is to increase the amount of boron needed for the growth and development of the plant, together with water. The fact that the results of stoma measurements of the treatment groups were higher than those of the no boron group is due to the fact that boron deficiency reduces the stomatal opening. In this thesis, it is thought that the dose of boron used in the hoagland nutrient solution is not an appropriate dose for the anatomical and physiological structure of the durum wheat plant, especially the decrease in the amount of photosynthetic pigment compared to the no boron group may cause a decrease in the photosynthetic efficiency of the plant and ultimately affect the growth and development of the plant negatively.
