Abstract (EN)
Highway around Bornova section have big traffic problems to travel. For this reason generally in Izmir to solve traffic problems, Izmir Ring Road-Metro works have been started ten years ago and have been planned to finish until 2001. In this project, geological-geotechnical investigations of the Bornova section 1-3, 1-4, Zaffer Payzın IIaduct-Ege University IIaduct, Great Sewage-disposel Project have been carried out, and geotechnical mapping of the section 1-3 and 1-4 have been done to solve some problems, to lead foundation problems, as a result Soil and Rock index-engineering properties of the Bornova section of the Izmir Ring Road have been investigated. According to data obtained from In-situ and laboratory test, It is determined that Quaternary sediments have low strength. Using geological and geotechnical data, foundations conditions have been examined. First of all, 1:5000 scale Documentation Map which data taken from the motorway, metro, ring road, Great sewage disposal have been done, then Engineering Geological Mapping objected to give three dimensional Hew. Geological profiles drew along the 1-3 and 1-4 section of the augment.
