Analysing the financial performance of the companies in the Borsa Istanbul (BIST) information technology index with the MABAC method

The IT sector plays an important role in the development and competitiveness of national economies and enterprises. For this reason, analysing the performance of the IT sector well, determining its deficiencies and weaknesses well and increasing the financial performance of the sector is also the key to increasing the performance of the country's economy. In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the financial performance of IT sector companies registered in Borsa Istanbul between 2019-2021. For this purpose, 13 financial ratios obtained from the data of 22 IT companies registered in BIST were determined as criteria. After these criteria were weighted by Entropy method, the performance ranking of the companies was made by MABAC method. As a result of the ranking, the company with the highest financial performance is Link Bilgisayar Sistemleri Yazılımı ve Donanımı Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. (LINK), while the company with the worst financial performance is Smart Transformation Technology Inc. (SMART).
