Financial performance analysis of cement enterprises registered in Borsa Istanbul

It is known that throughout history, humanity has needed shelter most, after water and food, to survive. The process of shelter evolution, where people's living spaces have transformed from caves to luxury buildings, shows the importance of this issue. Today, after water, cement is known to be the most widely used by humans to meet their shelter needs. With an annual production of 4 billion tons, large investments are made in this field. Turkey, as one of the leading players in this sector and one of the largest users, producers and exporters, has spent a large amount of capital on this industry. Cement producing companies are now registered on the Istanbul Stock Exchange and it is known that everyone can buy shares of these large companies. Therefore, the financial performance of these companies is of great importance for both shareholders and Turkey in general. This study attempts to analyze the financial performance of these companies in 2019, 2020 and 2021. The data used in this analysis was obtained from the Bursa Istanbul website. The ENTROPY method was used to determine the weights of the criteria, and the ranking of the companies was made using the TOPSIS and VICOR methods.
