Abstract (EN)

In there search the exploration of the relationship between problem solving skills and automatic thoughts of the couples who are at the divorce process is purposed. The population of the research has been established the individuals who applied in order to divorce to İzmir Judiciary Family Court, between the dates of December 2014- May 2015. Thesample of the research was chosen by convenience sampling method. The sample of research has been consisted of 140 people who applied in order to divorce to İzmir Judiciary Family Court, between the dates of December 2014- May 2015. Scale factors which are given to the volunteers are applied by researcher. As for the data collection, Problem Solving Inventory (PSI) devolped by Heppner and Petersen (1982) and Automatic Thoughts Questionnaire (ATQ) by Holland and Kendall (1980) were used. Personal Information Form prepared by researcher of this study with the purpose of specific socio-demographic (age, gender and education level) variables. As a result of the investigation, positive meaningful relationship has been found between automatic thoughts and problem solving skills. There isn't significant difference between the social- demografic characteristics with the problem solving skills and authomatic thoughts by the statical.
