A research on the relationship between the social adaptation process and the religious levels of the children of divorced family

Today, divorce is a common situation and brings with it many troubles and difficulties. It is seen that the divorce rates in Turkey are increasing day by day. Divorce primarily causes great damage to the divorced individuals and indirectly to the society. Since they are not prepared for divorce and their ties with their parents are not severed, children are affected much more by this situation and children experience social adaptation problems as a result of the negative situations they experience. The aim of this study is to examine the post-divorce social adjustment and religiosity levels of the children of divorced families aged 12-17. The research was carried out on 111 participants from divorced family children in adolescence (12-17) who attend high schools in Hatay province and study at high school level. Relational research model was used in the research. "Divorce Adjustment Inventory", "Religiousness Scale" and Personal Information Form developed by the researcher were used to collect research data. In the analysis of the data obtained; statistical package program was used. The research was carried out according to the main problem and it was tried to explain the factors that affect the social adjustment of the child by getting rid of the negative effects of divorce in terms of the relationship between social harmony and religiosity. It is also aimed to explain whether religiosity after divorce has an effect on social cohesion.
