Özet (EN)

In the research for the thesis named 'Converting horned figures into ceramic forms and application samples' it was seen that the horned figures' tendency towards being a cult object became predominant. The information obtained in the research process illustrates that the horned figure has become a subject mostly for mythology. For this reason, in the light of the information obtained, in the first part the meanings of words like cult, mythology, figure, symbol, totem and prosperity were conveyed. In the same part again, some samples related to using horned animals and horned figures in different community mythologies were given. Some articles, periodic publications and bulletins have been used and references made. In the second part, information regarding horns and horned figures in Turkish mythology has been given. Turks were interested in the creation of the first man, gods and subjects concerning the universe and in their mythological tales they mentioned extensively about horns and horned animal figures. The climate of the geography in which they resided, the natural habitat and the animal population, all formed the subjects and heroes of the tales that have reached us today. And in the third part emphasis have been given to work and conversion of horned figures into ceramic forms and applications. The design and application works were inspired by horned figure cult objects seen in both Turkish and other different community mythologies.
