Abstract (EN)
The subject matter of this study is a sense of time as perceived by Steppes Tribes from the beginning to the end of the Uyghurs period and the calendar used by them. The thesis consists of introduction, four chapters and conclusion.The introduction deals with the subject matter of the thesis, its aim and importance. Short information is given about a sense of time, calendar, its features and the characteristics of the tribes which used it.The first chapter dwells on the sense of time of Steppes Tribes. The information is provided as regards Iskits, Huns, Gokturks, Uyghurs? sense of time and the terms they used related to this sense of time.The second chapter is on the calendar used by Iskits, Huns, Gokturks and Uyghurs tribes.The third chapter deals with the emergence of twelve-animal-calendar, its parts and characteristics. In addition, its conversion into the Gregorian calendar is also discussed.The fourth chapter provides the information about the spread of the calendar and its influences. More information is given about the tribes using the calendar.The results reached in the process of this study are given in conclusion.
