Abstract (EN)
In this study, the Turkish-German Forestry Projects model management planof Bozkurt (Kastamonu) Forest Enterprise were investigated with respect tothe planning tecniques and silviculture. So, the model plan and the classicmanagement plan were comprised with respect to the inventory methods, stand types, determination of the working section and site classes, themanaging goals, the rotation age, normal structure, silvicultural operations, regulation of utilization and mapping techniques. In conclusion of these comparisons, the newness of the model managementplans as to the planning and silviculture were determined for researchingthe practicability of this plan in the broadleaved forests of the region. The inventory, determination of the stand type, the juvenile generationstate, and determination of the silvicultural allowable cut were done moredetailed in the model plans than the classic one.In spite of this positive characteristics, there are important deficiencies inthe model plans, such as no being assessed of yield capacity, insufficient inreach to the normal structure. Also; the small regeneration areas cause theproblems during the regeneration process and trailing. And so; theregeneration practise, which should be the main objective of the forestcontinuity, were not able to meet the sufficient regenaration. Despite of thefact that being projected site inventory and mapping in the model plans, this is not done in practice. In spite of fact that the functional approachesare the main goal in the model plans, a real functional planning is notdone. In conclusion, the model plans of the Turkish-German Forestry Projects couldbe evaluated as an practicable and sustainable approach on the broadleavedforests in the Westhern Blacksea Regions, if some pre-conditions wereprovided.Science Code : 502.01.02Key words : Bozkurt Forest Enterprise, Forest Management, ModelplansPage number : 92Thesis adviser : Asist.
