Abstract (EN)

Oligothiophenes are used in high performance electronic devices which are most studied organic semiconductors. Therefore oligothiophenes used in solar cell applications need to be enhanced absorption characteristics. Polythiophenes are gaining increased interest due to excellent electrical and optical species either in industry or in academica. Because of semiconductor behaviors and electro optical properties of organic light emitting diods (OLEDs) and organic field effect transistors (OFETs) are used widespread area. The discovery of materials which minimize the energy consumption, today energy requipment increase rapidly, are obligated. In recent years, OLEDs, electrochromic materials and conductive polymers are attracting great attention with the advancement of technology. The first part of this study, bromo-thioxantone (TXBr), which is a bromo-ended photoinitiator, was synthesised and characterized, photoinitiated polymerizations of methyl methacrylate (MMA) was performed with different concentration of TXBr. The second part of this study, a compound has a one thiophene group, is bound with TXBr photoinitiator through the Suzuki coupling reaction. This synthesized compound was characterized with different spectrophotometric methods (1HNMR, UV, florescence etc.). Besides this photophysical properties, electrochemical properties of oligothiophene compound are characterized by cyclic voltammetry. In addition to this, oligothiophene compound was coated upon indium tin oxide (ITO) and occurring polymers properties were studied.
