Evaluation of today's and tomorrow's search and rescue teams' perspectives on technology in their professional lives; Gümüşhane province example

Technology, one of the main dynamics affecting today's societies, consists of techniques, tools and processes developed to control and transform the natural and social environment. As in every field, changing and developing technology has undergone a remarkable transformation in the field of search and rescue. Today, technological devices used in search and rescue provide advantages for information access, dissemination, rapid detection, easy location, communication, supply, etc. In this study, it was aimed to determine the level of use of technological devices used by the teams and their attitudes towards technological devices in line with the questionnaire study on the necessity of technology to be conducted to today's and tomorrow's search and rescue personnel in Gümüşhane province. Since there are not enough studies on this subject in the literature review, the scale and questionnaire of our research were created by us. In the questionnaire, in addition to demographic questions, there are 43 questions in total with the necessity of technology scale. The data we obtained were analyzed using SPSS 26 data program. According to the results, students have a more positive view of the use of technological devices than employees. Especially the values for the use of communication and communication tools are quite high. In addition to this, it is observed in the research that although the teams believe in the necessity of technological devices, the trust in them is low. Teams need to use technology and technological devices effectively in order to be efficient and effective in search and rescue operations where seconds are very important between life and death.
