Abstract (EN)

In this thesis study, a system was designed for remote tracking and control of bee hives by using fuzzy logic on ardunio. In the system, the temperature and the humidity inside the hive is tracked and controlled. The aim in this thesis study is to increase the honey efficiency and to decrease the negative effects of temperature and humidity on bees. With the help of the hive designed, the best living condition for bees during summer and winter seasons was provided by instantaneously measuring the internal and external temperature of the hive. In the design of the hive, ardunio mega, temperature, humidity, and rain sensors, Peltier cooler, solar panel, gel battery, as well as a fan was used and then a web site was developed for tracking and controlling. During the development of the website, ASP.NET MVC platform and MSSQL database were used. The rain in the hive as well as internal and external humidity and temperature values were recorded to the database by being measured through the sensors minute by minute. The remote control of the bee hive on the website can be carried out in two methods; manually and fuzzy logic. In manual control, the system works on a rule-based system that depends on threshold values. In the fuzzy logic method, the system is controlled through the inferences that have been obtained by trial and error results of expert opinions. Cooling, heating, and the humidity control of the bee hive can be performed on the website in both methods. For inference process in the fuzzy logic, sixty-four fuzzy rules were created. The fuzzy rules under discussion and membership function parameters can be changed on the website. Therefore, the developed bee hive has an adaptive structure. The fact that the fuzzy logic rules and functions are adaptive provides the fact that the bee hive can be used in different areas with different climate conditions. The most important contributions of this thesis study are the fact that the tracking and control of the bee hive can be done on web and mobile interface, the fact that the control can be performed both manually and by fuzzy logic, and the fact that the system has an adaptable structure. It is thought to develop the usability of the bee hive by adding various sensors to the designed system.
