Abstract (EN)

The migrations from Bulgaria to Turkey between 1984 and 1989 and the assimilation policies that made these migrations mandatory have Decently affected the historical and sociological development of Bulgaria and Turkey. Representations of Turkish people as others in Bulgarian cinema have been studied through characters, visual plans and script text. Through the films "Stolen Eyes" and "Damescana", the Turkish identity was explained within the framework of the concept of otherness and the role of cinema that sheds light on historical and social reality was emphasized. By examining the Turkish identity in Bulgarian-made films, Bulgarians' perspectives on Turkish people, which are an important element of their own history, have been analyzed. Films dealing with the traumas that took place in the social memory of Turkish people until the migration process from Bulgaria to Turkey in 1989 were made with the predominant contributions of Bulgarian screenwriters, directors and actors. In this context, a study has been conducted that emphasizes the deconfliction between the two countries without targeting Bulgaria.
