Alternative tourism attractiveness of Burdur Urban Forest and environment

Alternative tourism activities in Turkey as well as in many countries in recent years it has been changing human needs come to the fore. Alternative tourism types operate with a very different strategic approach than the traditional tourism concept. In the classical tourism, the Sea-Sand-Sun trio moves and the investments made follow the path from general to private while, the alternative tourism is a way from private to general and it consists of Excitement-Fun-Education elements. The important thing here is to leave the natural area, rural life, regionalism and cultural values to future generations. In this study, it is tried to reveal how the tourism sector of Burdur City Forest and its Environment should be gained in terms of alternative tourism activities with its geopolitical location, natural and cultural values. As a result of the studies carried out, it is understood that Burdur Urban Forest and its Environment has a high potential for alternative tourism but cannot benefit from this potential sufficiently. The main reasons for this negativity are; The fact that regional managers do not give enough importance to alternative tourism, not to create enough alternative activities in the region, and especially the natural habitats that exist within our working borders are not considered in terms of sustainability. In order to terminate these negativities and to provide regional development with regional people based on regional values, It is foreseen that 8 alternative tourism activities will be possible. It is also foreseen that the tourism of the region will have a national and international value if the necessary tourism information is applied within the scope of the plans and projects for Alternative Tourism Attractions that we have indicated for Burdur Urban Forest and Environment.
