At the beginning of the 18th Burhaniye started having characteristic Turkish-Islamiccity and so the part of the Ottoman Art and Architecture. There are seven mosques, oneminaret and a bath (hamam) in Burhaniye and the vicinity of Burhaniye.Monuments constructing during Turkish epoch have different architectural anddecoration styles. There are two mosques types. The first one is rectangular planned andrectangular planned with wooden cupola mosques. This is the most common type in 18th andbuilding generally in small town and districts, which examples were commencedembellishing the mural painting and `kalemisi? geometric and floral motifs; `C and S` scrolls,acahantus during the westernization of Ottoman art.The second type is centralized planned mosques, coming from the ?Classic age ofOttoman architecture?, however these mosques are too rare and gathered in western Anatolia.Even though the mosques remind of the classic examples, the details of building lost theproportions. In facades, architectural details and adornment programs are seen the new tastes-baroque, rococo, empire style and neo-classic- coming from Europe. From the 18th to theend of the 19th Ottoman art were influenced European artistic tastes, whereas the plans ofmosques did not change except for few examples.Although the society of Ottoman changed the taste of art and architecture, like somecivic examples library, fountains and so on, Society and the milieu of palace always preferredthe mix of the classic Islamic motifs with the European elements -The topic still needsresearch -. That is why that the last second century of the Ottoman art is far from merely thecopy of westerner styles and give signals that the changes that happen in the whole society aswell.Key Words: 1.
