Evaluation of the office management and secretaryship pre-bachelor`s program

The purpose of this research is to examine and evaluate the Office Management andSecretaryship Pre-Bachelor?s Program in terms of its aim, content and teaching methods. Theimportance of this research comes from its value to provide necessary data for the futureresearches.This research was carried out on the data collected from the survey sent to the students. Thesample of the study consisted of 337 (%25) out of 1345students registered into A.Ü. AÖF TheOffice Management and Secretaryship Pre-Bachelor?s Program and the survey consisted of 9titles and 34 questions. These are demographics, questions about the program, content of thebooks, TV programmes, trial exams, training software, academic consulting, study methodsand exam evaluations. Frequency (f) and percentage (%) of every question in the survey weretaken into consideration and high scored judgements were evaluated in terms of gender, ageand working situation.Research results revealed that students have positive opinions towards this undergraduateprogram. For example, students described both the content of the program in general and thebooks as one of the most important components of the program, and also it was revealed thatcomputer supported educational activities and academic consulting are not used frequentlybecause of the several reasons. Another result is that, there are plenty of students that havedifficulties regarding the timing of the TV programmes.Having computer supported educational activities heard by more people, these programmesrepeatedly broadcast on an education-oriented TV channel and to have academic consultingbecome widespread can be shown as one of the main factors that increase the functioning ofthis undergraduate program.Keywords: Office management and secretaryship, evaluation of education, computersupported education, academic consulting.
