Abstract (EN)

In this study, the levels of Organochlorine Pesticides (OCPs) were evaluated by using passive air sampler (PHÖ) in indoor and outdoor air samples from 15 different locations in Bursa between December 2019 and February 2020. While indoor air samples were taken from 15 different points, outdoor air samples were taken from 6 of these points at the same sampling time. The sampling areas are in Bursa's Yıldırım, Kestel, Mudanya, Nilüfer and Osmangazi districts. For total 10 OCP (∑10OCP) concentrations measured in indoor air, the minimum value is 93.39 pg/m3 in Bursa Modern house (8th) in Yıldırım district, the maximum value is 887.10 pg/m3 in the textile workshop on Vişne street in Yıldırım district. (5.) has been identified. It has been determined that the reason for its high value is that the region is industrial. The minimum value for Σ10OCP concentrations measured in the outdoor air is 130.6 pg/m3, while the house (13th) is one of the reference points located in Yüzüncü Yıl Mahallesi in Nilüfer district; The maximum value of 888.8 pg/m3 belongs to the house (6th) in Esenevler Mahallesi in Yıldırım district. This situation reveals that pesticides were used in the regions before and their effects can still be observed in the air environment. One of the additional reasons for the presence of the pollutant in the high concentration area is the painting work done on the exterior of the building during the sampling period. The ratios (I/O) of indoor and outdoor OCP concentrations were calculated and it was concluded that the pollutants mostly originate from the indoor environment. Using the diagnosis rates, it was determined that the use of lindane still continues in Bursa. The risk of cancer in adults and children was evaluated using the concentration values of OCPs obtained by using PHO. According to the results obtained, it has been determined that the cancer risk of respiratory OCP in adults and children is at high levels for both indoor and outdoor environments.
