Abstract (EN)
There have been limited efforts to determine the ecological charactenistics of linden grown natural habitats, which have traditionally been used for centuries among our people and which an important non- timber forest product. In the areas where ecology is appropriate or in special plantation works the ecological conditions of natural spreading areas should be firstly determined. It is important in the afforestation works for the success of the studies to select areas similiar to the natural growth charecteristics in the plantations to be built for flower yard log production. In oversight of Bursa Forest Regional Directorate are pure or mixed linden populations showing spread on 10,139 hectares of area. The soil samples from the spreading areas were investigated by examing the soil profile. Totaly 43 soil pits were digged from three different areas where the natural distribution of linden was observed and soil samples were taken and soil textures, organic matter, pH, salt, electrical conductivity (EC) values and so forth were determined. It has been determined that the natural linden populations are distributed between 0-400 meters altitude and 88% of them have shady slope. It has been determined that 50% of the soil textures are "sandy clay" and 44% are "sandy clayey loam". It is seen that 91% of the soils have entered "deep-very deep" soil and 87% have entered the "less stony" class. In terms of chemical properties, the average pH changes between 5.6 and 6.6, and "moderate" and "mild acid" fall into the soil category. In terms of lime content, "less calcareous soil" is. The average amount of organic matter is determined as 2.01% and is in the "middle" class.
