A study on the speech anxiety of Ahıskalı Turkish students studying at Bursa Uludağ University

This aim of this research is to find out if there is speaking anxiety among the Ahıska Turkish students when speaking in Turkish language. This research is based on a questionnaire scale 'Speaking Anxiety Scale' by which it is determined which students have speaking anxiety and which don't have the speaking anxiety. The results of this research is the feedback gathered from the questionnaire research. Besides this, this research has importance because it includes suggestions regarding decreasing the speaking anxiety among Ahiskali Turkish students. This study encompases the Ahiska Turks that study at the Bursa Uludag University that and experienced speaking anxiety and who have experienced worry, fear and stress while speking in Turkish The study is based upon the Personal Information form and the Speaking Anxiety Scale. The information and results that we gathered from the Personal Information Form we have the info about the students such as at which faculty they are studying. The results gathered from the second form we get the result of the students that have experienced speaking anxiety. This questionnaire was implemented to 99 students that are studying at the Education Faculty, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Theology and Faculty of Business administartion. From the results of this questionnaire a general evaluation was made. The results of the questionnnaire done by the students was analyzed with the SPSS program with the version 21.0. Percentage and frequency were used for personal information, and arithmetic mean and standard deviation techniques were used for Likert type items.
