The Research and new drawings on crochet, money, watch and tobacco purses which can be found in Bursa country and museum

314 ABSTRACT Social and cultural changes are influenced by the rapid increase in urbanisation and industrilisation which is the consequence of technological advance. At the same time this has an effect on many important changes in traditional Turkish culture. Due to this fact our national cultural norms, our huge history, and handicrafts face the danger of being faded away. It can easily be figured out that handiwork purses are subsituted by today's purses and handbags by losing the war against technology. And it is seen that there hosrit been any sufficient researches and sources about them. This research has been processed and planned through finding out the properties of crochet, money, watch and tobacco purses which can be found in Bursa country and museum. This research is also processed for getting rid of the obtained results and for giring the importance of these handiwork purses and the reusage of them. In the first chapter of the research, consisting of six chapters, detail information about the definition of the subject, the purpose of the research, its restuction, materials, and procedures can be found. In the second chapter, the summery of literatüre is briefly presented in chronological order. In the third chapter, the history of county in which the research has been done, its geograpy, its economical, social status, and cultural facilities and general information about knit and purse are given with respect to the obtained informations of literature. Furthermore, in the chapter the importance and definition of knit, its classification, the history and definition of purses, kinds of them, colours used on purses, subjects and compositions are genarally explained. In the fourth chapter, under the title of foundations and comments, the crochet purse parts, forms, sizes, devices, techniques, colours, motifsubjects, and compositions, which are confirmed in research counts, are given. And also the obtained data is evaluated by plotting schedules. In the following chapter, the observation form, fotographs, and 1/1 drawings of crochet purses are imparted in regord of properties of formation, size, deuces, techniques, colour, subject of each examples. In the last chapter, general explanations are made about the subject and the suggestions are made by the obtained consequences. Under the title of references, the sources, used during the research, are given. In appendix, an example of interview paper, which's opplied in the country, is given. In addition to it, an example of observation sheet in imparted. In the application part of the research, new drawings, noulds, and prejects of nowadays fashion which is inspired by the handiwork purses in the county, are explained.
