Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the behavior of reinforced concrete buildings with torsional irregularity in different soil groups was investigated. In the study, three 5, 8 and 12 storey structures with similar geometrical and rigidity properties and torsional irregularity were modeled. The building subject to the study was designed in different soil groups (ZA, ZB, ZC, ZD and ZE) based on the 2018 Turkey Building Earthquake Code, assuming that it is in the same location in Amasya. The dynamic analyzes of the structure modeled with the same material and cross-sectional properties in the SAP2000 program were made and the resulting torsional irregularity coefficients were examined in terms of relative storey drifts and base shear forces formed in the vertical carrier system. The results were compared according to the 2018 Turkish Building Earthquake Code. In this context, it has been determined that the number of torsional irregularity floors increases as they move away from the mass center of the bulkheads, and there are not very different changes in the number of torsional irregularity floors on different floors. With the change in the number of floors, torsional irregularity and relative story drift increased from low to high floors.
