Analtzing the opinions relating to the mould and model problems which large-sized women meet with on jacket and trousers

Obesity is one of the main problems in the 21st century. Changes in our lifestyles and eating habits constitute main reason of this problem. According to thestatistics of World Health Organization there are more than 1million fat people allaround the world and 300 million of them are extremely fat which is regarded as anobese. Obesity is being seen as a medical problem that affects life quality negativelydue to health problems. Obesity may cause health problems as well as the manypsychological problems. People who do not have ideal body proportions may facethe problem of abstraction from the society because of the lack of the self-confidence.Expectations concerning the clothing sector of obese people who constitute1/6 of the world population may be changed. Large-sized people who take an activerol in the business life have a desire for stylish and comfortable clothes that meettheir needs. The number of companies which have a production for large-sizedpeople are not enough for the demands of obese customers. Despite having a large-size body proportions, womens have a natural instinct to have stylish and modernclothes that meet their comfort demands compatible with their ages andanatomical/antropometric structure. Producer companies that can meet theinstinctive needs of large-sized customers must know their target group well andhave a production which meet their expectations.It is known that large-size clothes mould is thought as an enlargement ofnormal body mould in society. Physical differences and different body types must beknown to remove this common thought and to meet the needs of large-sizedcustomers. Companies which have a production for large-sized people must takethese differences into consideration and reflect these differences to their design andwhole production process.Clothes should be accorded with human body ergonomically to meetdemands perfectly. Therefore, antropometric structure and measurement of the large-size must be known well and also used in designs accurately. Accordance with thebody and usage comfort may not be provided in clothes mould if the antropometricstructure and measurements are not taken into consideration. In spite of increasinglarge-size demands, researches on this subject are insufficient. This situation maycause large-sized customers to complain about their clothes.This research has an aim to determine problems of large-sized customersabout jacket and trousers purchased and also to make proposals for these problems.For this purpose, the survey sheet was conducted to determine the problems aboutthe model and the mould that large-sized women face with in large-size jacket andtrousers. This survey was applied to women who are between the ages of 45-59 andalso live in Ankara.Datas obtained from the survey sheet was transferred to the computer and ?t?test was applied to determine whether there is a meaningful relation between theproblems about jacket and trousers.There are so many problems in jacket and trouser owing to the model andmould. Proposals were made in order to minimize and remove these problems.Producer companies that can meet the instinctive needs of large-sizedcustomers must know their target group well and have a production which meet theirexpectations.As one of these proposals, companies which have a production for the large-sized should attach more importance to the market research and determineexpectations and requests of the customers according to the this market research inorder to remove all the mould problems.Body types and its characteristics of the large-sized women should beanalyzed on the antropometric side in order to remove mould problems on the jacketand torusers. Nevertheless, standart measurement chart for the large-sized women isneeded to be formed.
