Abstract (EN)

Büyük and Küçükkizilcik Pb-Zn Mineralizations are located near the Afşin area in Kahramanmaraş, it is in the scope of 1/25000 scale ELBİSTAN L37 D2 topographic map. Mineralization was observed in the zone along the 14 km from Küçük Kızılcık village to Afşin. Mineralization is represented with barite-antimonite-fluorite in the west, pyrite-chalcopyrite in the middle part and galena-sphalerite in the east part of mineralized zone. According to the results of the analysis, it is seen that trace elements are very poor compared to the barite mineralizations in Turkey and in the world. ∑REE contents of barite mineralization in the study area are between 4.31 and 14.44 ppm. The chondrite-normalized REE patterns of the studied barites exhibit trends similar to the normalized REE patterns of international magmatic standard rock samples and display a decrease from LREE towards HREE. The ores are enriched in HNTE because they are of upper crust origin. Fluid inclusion studies carried out on the barite and quartz crystals taken from Büyük and Küçük Kızılcık mineralizations. TFM, TmICE and TH values measured during the microthermometric studies indicate the presence of NaCl, CaCl2 and MgCl2 types salts in the hydrothermal solution, the salinity of the fluids are in range of 4.5 to 2 % NaCl and temperature of the fluids range from 105C to 120C. In addition, the homogenization temperatures point out that the origin of this mineralization occurred in the epithermal phase of hydrothermal stage. The lead isotope studies show that 206Pb/204Pb lead isotope values of galena vary between ‰ 17,20-19,96; 207Pb/204Pb lead isotope values of galena vary between ‰ 14,07-16,20; 208Pb/204Pb lead isotope values of galena vary between ‰ 35,41-41,87. The lead isotope studies show that barites and sulfides were originated from upper crust materials. The δ34S values of galenites in Büyük and Küçük Kızılcık mineralizations range from ‰ 8,2 to 14,4. These δ34S values indicate the Büyük and Küçükkizilcik deposits are hydrothermal deposits formed in the epithermal phase. The δ18O values of barites are between ‰ 17 and 18.5 and these δ18O values show that the origin of water in the hydrothermal solutions was with metamorphic origin As a conclusion, the hydrothermal solutions forming the mineralization in the study area reached to these zones after they were sequenced in the Malatya Metamorphic rocks along fracture, cracks and fault zones in the region.
