ABSTRACTMaster ThesisGrowth and Foreign Trade Relationship: The Case of TurkeyFulya ŞENDokuz Eylul UniversityInstitute Of Social SciencesDepartment of EconometricsThis paper examines the relationship between economic growth andforeign trade in Turkey. There are four sections in this study. In the firstsection, the concept of growth and the sources of growth are summarized. In thesecond section, traditional growth theories are explained. In the third section,endogenous growth theories and their differences from other growth theoriesare explained. In the last section, the literature review is summarized andExport-Led Growth Hypothesis is tested for Turkey by using the data set forthe years 1980-2005. As a result, it?s found that Export-Led Growth Hypothesisdoes not work for Turkey.Key Words: 1) 2)Growth Theories, Export-Led Growth Hypothesis,3) Capital Accumulation, 4) Technological Progress, 5) Human Capital
