An evaluation of C1 level foreign students' writing exam as an assessment of the level of foreign students

Writing skill which is one of the narrative skills plays a major role in gaining the basic structure and vocabulary of foreign language. Writing exercises in foreign language also help developing other skills. In this study, it is aimed to examine the achievement in writing exams of hundred students who have studied Turkish in the Istanbul University Language Center for the past three years. This thesis consists of students learning outcomes of writing skills which is one of the most difficult language skills, grammar, spelling and punctuation rules used by foreign students and academic standing of foreign students. In this context, this study is based on documentary analysis within the qualitative methods. The data obtained from hundred C1 level students will be guided the development of writing skills of students who tend to learn Turkish as a foreign language.
