Social and economic life in İnegöl according to the İnegol Sharia Register record no: C 226

One of the most important sources to be consulted in urban history studies, the Sharia Records help us to determine the daily life, family structure, food and clothing types and their prices, and professional lives of the people living in the region and the period in which they were kept. This thesis is a study based on the Sharia Records in order to understand the social and economic structure of İnegöl District of Ertuğrul Sanjak within Hudâvendigâr Province in the early 20th century. While preparing the thesis, the main source of information was the İnegöl Sharia Records book numbered C 226 covering the dates 1907-1910. The information contained in the registry was examined in comparison with the documents related to İnegöl in the Prime Ministry Ottoman Archive and the information contained in the the yearbooks of Hudavendigar province. Within the framework of the information obtained from the sources examined, evaluations were made on the socio-economic structure of İnegöl Kazası in the early 20th century.
