Semantic changes of from Chagatay Turkish to Uzbek Turkish

As the basis of our life and our development the language always finds a place as a research subject in every period of science history with its present exist-ence, historical backgraound and formation. It we continue to shed light and us as we examine the language which lightens the origins of societies, their kinships and their interconnections, culture belief, even the geography they live and the cluster of all them. As one of the youngest branches of language studies in our country "Linguis-tics" constitues an important area in this context. This study, which is formed on the basis of the semantics of language, the widest paint of Linguistics, aims to compare Chagatay Turkish with living Uzbek Turkish in terms of their semantics. Having the study in this perspective, the investigation formed by comparing Dr. Suat Unlu's work "The Dictionary of Chagatay Turkish" with Nizamiddin Mahmud and Ertugrul Yaman's work "Uzbek Turkish-Turkey Turkish" and "Guide to Provisions of Turkey Turkish-Uzbek Turkish" and Berdak Yusuf's work "Turkish-Uzbek and Uzbek Turk-ish". The words with same semantic qualities have been determined (interms of se-mantic restruction, semantic extension, elegation/amelioration, degenera-tion/pejoration and semantic transfer) and they have been classified accordingly. While stating the field of meaning, Emek Usenmez's work "The Dictionary Of Uz-bek Turkish" was used. The smilarity and differences in usage of the words and the semantic transfer of these two historical and contemporary dialects continuing each other have been identified.
