Abstract (EN)
The story of Yusuf and Züleyha has been told in our ancient literature for centuries. Although this holy subject, which takes its source from the Qur'an, is handled with different language features in different periods of Turkish, there are not many distinctive differences in terms of subject. The subject of our thesis is a Yusuf and Züleyha masnavi of Chagatai Turkish, whose author is unknown, but the person who added the margins is named as Ahmed Câm Jendebil (Ahmedi). As the author stated in the work, the fact that he transferred a Persian prose work of Yusuf and Züleyha to Turkish in verse adds a special importance to the work. In the work, Persian words written in red under the couplets, sometimes consisting of one word or sometimes several words, are found under each verse. As the author states on the beginning pages of the work, the work was presented in the name of Ebu'l-Gazi Sultan Hüseyin Baykara. The work is included in V. Pertsch's catalog of Berlin manuscripts with the entry 385 (Sprenger 1650) and this manuscript found in Staatsbibliothek in Tübingen has 184 leaves of 160 mm.x 110mm. Each page has an average of seven lines written in nestalik. Our aim in this study, which we prepared as a master's degree, is to ensure that a language heirloom belonging to Chagatai Turkish is brought into today's Turkish and examined. In terms of subject and scope, it is also important in terms of being a source for Yusuf and Züleyha masnavis, both written in Chagatai Turkish and written in other historical dialects and accents of Turkish. The method we followed in the study, firstly, the transcription of the text was made within the framework of the meter of the work, and then the language analysis was revealed. With the program called Cibakaya, its grammatical index was prepared and its dictionary was prepared. As a result of our study, the work is definitely a masnavi belonging to the Chagatai Turkish period and contains the language features of the period at a high rate. In addition, the use of hareke in the first places where Turkish words are mentioned and not being used in repetitions are among the remarkable points in the text.
