Özet (EN)
In 1989 a term ?Bodylore? is created by an American Folklorist, Katherine Young for the first time. By this way it seems that the folkloric studies gained a new acceleration. The corporal texts are also added to the cultural studies which mostly based upon the oral and written sources. By creating the term ?Bodylore?, the researches on that study context indicate that the corporal texts have at least the same value as the other ones. This study named ?The Bodylore in the Modern Towns? is limited with the gestures and facial expressions which are among the subjects of ?Bodylore?; it discussed on the texts in which the reflections of gestures and facials expressions are able to seen in the Modern Town. It also investigated the functions of gestures and facial movements, their using types and their usage as meaning creating tools. In this study gestures and facial expressions are evaluated by using the samples as the relationships among the cultures, communication with internet, politics, advertising, group folklore, ceremonies, cinema and theater etc. It also interrogate the topics such as the problem of being cultured and being materialized of gestures and facial expressions, whether political ? and economical pronunciation is created by gestures and facial expressions or not, how group identity is being embodied, or how the body motions in ceremonies provide the social remembrance. This study is a first step research in order to draw attention to the study of bodylore which the study of Turkish folklore has never taken to consideration, and to indicate how corporal texts could be read.
