The relationship between essence and new media in the context of contemporary art history

The thesis titled "The Relationship between Essence and New Media in the Context of Contemporary Art History" aims to shed light on today's art environments by examining the relationships in the context of essence and form of visual culture elements and narratives produced from the history of civilization to the present day. This research consists of four parts. In the first part, definitions of art, works of art, essence and forms, and comparisons of important works from past to present are included. In the second part, movements and thought groups that may have an impact from past to present are examined. In the last part of the second part, we focus on the usage areas of New Media Art, which are considered important within the scope of the subject. In the third part of the research, the concepts and environments of 'Contemporary' and 'Contemporary Art' are explained and comparisons are made with examples in the context of 'New Media Art'. The relationship between the visual contents presented in contemporary art environments in the context of essence and form is emphasized. In the last part, which is the fourth part, it is explained by giving examples that media tools are used not only in the field of art but also in many industries, and it has been concluded that New Media Art is an important tool for contemporary artists, and that the signs produced today have strong relationships with the signs produced throughout history.
