The concept of death in the context of violence in contemporary art

The fact of death, which continues from the moment life exists to the present day, has also led to violence. Art, which has been witnessing this situation for many years, has reflected its power of expression in many areas. Artists who have also included social problems in their works over the centuries have started to exhibit the themes of violence and death more freely with the period of contemporary art. The fact that there are a lot of themes of death related to violence against women in particular shows that this problem persists and that a woman's place in society has not reached its rightful position. In the thesis considered in this context, the process of the theme of death and violence in the field of art was presented with visual and written sources and supported by many examples of artists and works. Cinema art, which is an effective art branch, has been used and portraits taken from film scenes have been included in the application studies. Along with personal practice studies, critical thoughts and original ideas are one of the main elements of the thesis.
