Abstract (EN)
In the rapidly changing world passing from industry society to information society in this century, by the process of globalization the need for social qualified leadership and management increasing is clearly seen. Due to the quality of the service they offer, legal structures and their size, management of nursing service is known to be equally difficult where it has an important share in health care institutions those are difficult and complicated to manage. In this sense the leadership attitutedes that nurse managers have for the managing nursing services are important .The reason of the health institutions existance is to supply patients? expectations and conducting the treatment services.The most important task in this process falls to nurses those are in constant communication with the patient. The hospitals in which the matrons are functional director, the maintenance of the medical services in a healthy way is proportional to the matrons? leadership behaviours.In this study the determination leadership attitudes of nurse managers and the differences between the perceptions of laboured nurses from the leadership attitude expectation and the materialized leadership attitudes are aimed to put forward. Accordingly the perception of expected leadership attitudes from the nurse managers and the leadership attitudes those nurse managers show is surveyed whether it changes according to the various demographic characteristics of nurses or not.The first part of the study is about general concepts of leadership, and the second part consists of managing the hospital and nursing services. The third part consists of expectations of laboured nurses for the leadership attitudes of the nurse managers, the field survey perceived leadership behavior that occur and the detections as a result of research findings.According to the survey results, difference between the expectations of nurses and the perceived leadership attitudes is seen. The expected attitudes according to gender leadership, the expected attitudes according to education level leadership, according to the age difference is seen that both the expected and perceived leadership behaviors. According to the evaluation of the working time in the profession and the institution, the difference for the expected leadership attitudes comes out.Key Words: Leadership, Leadership Attitudes, Nurse Manager
