Özet (EN)

Today, in parallel with the speed of change in technology, it is seen that business technologies are rapidly developing and renewing. In this period, when information is the most important strategic power for businesses, the effective and efficient use of business information systems has become an important issue in this respect. In addition to the technical content of information systems, the individual-oriented behavioral content that uses the system is now remarkable. It is observed that employees who use information systems during their duties in the business environment are exposed to intense technological information in the context of the system. At this point, some individual qualities of the users gain importance in order to adapt to the system quickly. In this context, the thesis study focused on the cognitive capacity of employees, their capacity to absorb technological information and their innovative behavior in the field of information technologies. The aim of this thesis study is to examine the effect of individual absorptive capacity and information technology innovation variables on the process of technology acceptance and use, and to test an expanded model, by using a unified technology acceptance and use model in the context of user-system compatibility in the use of information systems. In the first part of the thesis, information about the purpose, problem, limitations and importance of the research is presented. In the second part, information about the literature review on information systems, technology acceptance and use models, individual assimilation capacity and information technology innovation is included. In the third section, the method section, detailed information about the design and process of the research is given. In the fourth chapter, the findings of the analyzes made within the scope of the research are included. In the fifth chapter, an evaluation of the analysis findings is made and suggestions for future studies are presented. In the study, qualitative and quantitative analysis methods were used together. First, new information was obtained by conducting in-depth interviews with 15 information system users about the concept of individual absorptive capacity, a broad perspective was presented to the researcher, and the cultural compatibility of the item contents of the individual absorptive capacity scale was ensured. In the second stage, a quantitative study was conducted to test the proposed model of the thesis. Data were collected online from a total of 638 information system users using the survey method. Data were analyzed using the SPSS22 and LISREL 8.15 analysis programs and the findings were presented. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis was used for the theoretical model of the study. As a result of the analyzes made, mostly significant relationships were found between the variables. It has been understood that performance expectation, social influence, and facilitating conditions are effective on individual absorptive capacity. While individual absorptive capacity was found to be effective on information technology innovation and effort expectancy, no significant effect was found on information technology innovation and effort expectation on system use. However, it was seen that the technology model expanded in the context of the study was accepted and validated at an excellent level in terms of compliance criteria. It is expected that the study will theoretically contribute to future research and that examining the individual characteristics of employees in technology acceptance research will create new perspectives in practice, especially in human resources management.
