Evaluation of undergraduate and graduate programs in the departmen of labor economics and industrial relations: A review of development plans

Today, education is a very important issue for countries and should be strived to catch up with international standards. Our country is also in an effort to catch up with these standards. Within the scope of the study, by evaluating these standards and the historical development of social policy, the two main axes of the Labor Economics and Industrial Relations departments in 30 different universities in Turkey Istanbul and Ankara universities, the higher education targets determined within the framework of the development plans prepared by the State Planning Organization in 1963 in Turkey, the undergraduate and graduate course contents, academic staff and thesis contents of the department is the study of whether there is a reflection or not. With the information society passed since the 1980s, a new structure has been formed in developed countries and higher education institutions that lead the training of qualified manpower have gained importance. In order to keep up with these developments in university institutions, it is aimed to strengthen the financial, administrative and academic fields in universities by implementing important reforms. In the study prepared in this context, the findings regarding the targets determined for higher education were analyzed and interpreted. As a result of the research, it was observed that the targets determined in the development plans were mostly applied in Istanbul and Ankara universities as required by departmental disciplines, but the targets applied in universities in recent years were evaluated within the scope of both higher education and YÖKAK programs.
