The effect of work environmental conditions on worker health and safety

The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of working environment conditions on the physical and psychological health of the employees in terms of occupational health and safety. In this research, screening model was used to investigate the relationship between working conditions and physical and psychological health of the employees. The population of the study consists of textile workers working in Istanbul. The sample consisted of 410 workers. In the study, Bilgi Personal Information Form","Working Environment Scale" and "Physical and Psychological Health Symptoms Scale" were used. As a result of the study, the levels of working environment conditions were determined. The level of physical and psychological mental health symptoms of the effects of the workers' working environment was found to be below the middle. As a result of the research, there is a positive and moderate relationship between physical and psychological health and working conditions and physical and psychological health symptoms of the employees. Exposure to temperature, humidity and noise from working conditions, relationship with harmful substances, physical effort and monotonization affect the physical health symptoms of textile workers by 66.7%, while psychological health symptoms are exposed to moisture and noise and physical effort by 66% of the complexity of the task and non-ergonomic conditions. Is affected at the 0 level. Differences were determined in terms of gender, age, education, marital status, working year, working year in the enterprise, accident and accident hazard situations, working environment conditions, physical and psychological health symptoms.
