Abstract (EN)

The developments in the business life caused a requirement for more competent employees. Formal education and the following informal education is not the only source for the development of competent employees. Acquirement of competence starts in the preschool period which the fundamentals seeded, and the progress continues in the future terms. Therefore preschool period is a period that the individual is prepared for the future terms.In recent years the findings of the researches in the fields of neuro-psychology and economics emphasize that individual competence management should start in the preschool period. The preschool period is shaping individual?s cognitive potential permanently, and the learning tendencies which determine learning performance are acquired in that period. So this is the period that the individual is prepared for the work life as well.Being competent in the work life depends on the convenient, sufficient, continuous and coherent social stimulus provided by the parents in the preschool period. The competent parenting could change the individuals? performance in their lives. States and societies developing policies that does not neglect the importance of preschool period will define economic, health and social performance for individuals, organizations and society as a whole.The competences in the framework of ?McCleland?s Personal Core Competence Model? which is necessary for the competent performance of the individual in the work life are ?achievement orientation, information seeking, collaboratitiveness, conceptual thinking, initiative, self-confidence, impact and influence, interpersonal understanding? and they are acquired in the preschool period by parenting in the dimensions of ?being a model (involvement)? and ?guidance (supervision).?
