Abstract (EN)

Purpose : This study aims to identify the problems faced by disabled people working in the private and public sectors in our country and to evaluate them in the context of social work discipline. Material and Method: The research is a phenomenological study which is a qualitative research type. The research data were collected from 20 participants selected with snowball sampling method to relevant from the disabled people who work in private and public sector in Adana City Center. Open-ended questions and dept interviews recorded with the voice recorder were analyzed using the MAXQDA Program after being converted into written text. Data were evaluated by inductive thematic analysis. Findings: When the opinions of the disabled people were examined, it was seen that the problems they experienced were grouped under two main headings. The problems that they have to deal with because they are different from the normally defined people are categorized under the title of disabled. Under the heading Preventing there are obstacles caused by society. Justice in employment should not only include employment, but also the right job. The way to achieve this is through education, institutional and social support. Result: People with disabilities were "blocked" in their working life due to social prejudices. For this reason, social work intervention should be planned and implemented primarily for society.
