Abstract (EN)

In this study; It is aimed to go beyond the technical application elements such as the application difficulties of other coating methods on glass in the artistic field, the preliminary preparation stage and the limitations in the size of the product to be coated, and to investigate the limits of the transfer of metal powders to the glass surface and the possibilities of using direct and indirect screen printing methods with an experimental approach. The scope of the project; It consists of transferring the draft prints printed with direct and indirect printing methods to the glass, after a preliminary study in which metal powders made suitable for printing with a medium are applied to the glass with the help of a spatula. Moreover; The compatibility of glass and metal powders after heat treatment, the attitude of powder metals to the surface, the color and artistic effects on glass are included in the scope of the thesis. The first part of the thesis consists of the historical process of printing and screen printing as well as screen printing methods. The second part consists of the history of screen printing and the use of metals on glass, artists working with screen printing and metal, and other printing techniques applied to glass surfaces. In the third part, the basic materials and equipment used in the screen printing technique are explained. The fourth part consists of experimental and personal applications in which the possibilities of using metal powders on glass surfaces are investigated.
