Abstract (EN)

Phosphorus is an element that can't be renewed and has a high usage area, so the current resource stocks have been decreasing worldwide in recent years. Wastewater is one of the most important sources of phosphorus and it has a big potential for phosphorus recycling. Filtrate come from sludge dewatering units goes back to the biological treatment units (especially aeration tanks) at wastewater treatment plants and it causes extra load in treatment units. In this study, it is aimed to remove the additional load of filtrate taken from the sludge dewatering units and to use the obtained phosphorus recovery product for fertilizing the plant green area. In addition, the sand coming from the grid chamber and oil removal unit used as the seed material in the recovery process. 34% phosphorus recovery was achieved in this precipitation process. The growth of the grass was observed for 10 days using the obtained material as fertilizer material at different rates in the grass planted in the pots. The amount of sediment was determined based on the pot data which determined the effective grass elongation and it was calculated that can be used for the green area in a wastewater treatment plant with the operating scenario. In the calculation, it was determined that the phosphorus sediment recovered from the filtrate water can cover approximately 21 times the fertilizer to be used for greening and 7% of the sand which is side stream can be recovered by this process
