Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted with the aim of observing the population development of Codling moth (Cydia pomonella, Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) in 2008-2009 in Çanakkale province and determining some biological properties in laboratory conditions. The adults of C. pomonella, which were captured in the pheromone traps, are counted periodically to observe the population development of the pest. Also an experiment was conducted to determine the larval and pupal development periods and longevity in controlled conditions. At the end of the study, when the population development is investigated the results showed that the pest generally emerges at the end of April-beginning of May and generates 2-3 generations per year. According to the graphics population development of the pest was irregular. This situation was thought to be a result of chemical control applications by the producers. At the end of the laboratory study mean larval development time was found as 21,6 days, the mean pupal development time was found as 13,9 days and mean longevity was found as 7,2 days in laboratory conditions.
