Evaluation of some release cutting studies in Çankırı Directorate of Forestry

Within the scope of this study, the effect of the density maintenance interventions applied in the Larch stands, which came naturally and artificially, within the borders of Eldivan Operations Chiefdom and Çankırı Operations Chiefdom of Çankırı Forestry Management Directorate, on the increment and growth of the stand was investigated. Between the years 2013-2020, the values on the increase in diameter and height of the areas that received and did not receive frequency maintenance intervention were compared. For this purpose, sample areas of 20x20=400 m2 were taken from the determined sample stands. The diameter and height values in the sample areas were measured and statistically analyzed. As a result of the measurements and statistical analyzes made in 10 sample areas taken from the glove chiefdom, significant differences were found in terms of both diameter and height at the 95% significance level in sample areas 1 with frequency maintenance and 2, 5 and 6, 7 and 8, 9 and 10 without frequency maintenance. In these areas, results were obtained in favor of the areas that received density care intervention, that is, there were increases in diameter and height. However, while there was a significant difference only in terms of diameter in the sample area 3 and 4, no difference was found in terms of height. As a result of the measurements and statistical analyzes made in 10 sample areas taken from the Çankırı chiefdom, in the sample areas 12, 13, 14, 17 and 18 that received frequency care intervention, there was a significant difference in favor of the areas that received frequency care intervention in terms of both diameter and height at 95% significance level. differences have been identified. However, while there was only a significant difference in diameter in the sample area 19 and 20, there was no difference in height. In the sample areas numbered 15 and 16, no difference was detected at the 95% significance level in terms of both diameter and length. Within the scope of the study, it was concluded that frequency maintenance interventions should be done in a timely manner and with appropriate severity.
