Abstract (EN)
With the increasing level of mechanization and mechanization reached in the agricultural sector, which accounts for 20% of the overall employment of our country, the occupational accidents that occur affect the job security of the working people, while reducing the productivity of the working people. Therefore, it has become necessary to take more effective measures for job security in agricultural enterprises. In this study, it is aimed to determine the level of knowledge and awareness about occupational safety in terms of both operator and employee in agricultural enterprises operating in Cankiri, which is outside the scope of the law and which has loopholes in terms of legislation since it falls into the Employee class on its name and account specified in Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331.The survey was conducted with employees, managers and business owners in different sized agricultural enterprises operating in Cankiri province. Of those surveyed, 88% were male, 44% were high school graduates, and 57% were workers and employees who had never received education about occupational health and safety. It was determined that 73% of the agricultural enterprises identified danger and risk, 67% of the employees had no accidents in the workplace, 86% used personal protective equipment and showed the necessary sensitivity to occupational safety rules, and 98% believed that work efficiency and quality improved in case of attention to occupational health and safety. In the assessment of the safety climate of the participants, it was determined that they differed according to their educational status, mode of work and whether or not they received Occupational Health and safety training, and did not differ according to their size of an enterprise, age and gender status.
