Determination of open green field features affecting the physical activity level of youth living in Çankırı

Especially today, a large part of the youth living in cities spend most of their time inactive in front of screens such as computers, TVs, mobile phones, with the effect of technological developments. With the inclusion of unhealthy and unbalanced nutrition in sedentary life, young people are faced with serious health problems such as overweight and obesity. At this point, urban open green spaces serve as environments that enable people living in the city to do physical activity for health and recreation purposes. Urban open green spaces are a valuable resource for urban residents' physical activity and have the potential to reduce chronic diseases and improve health. With this thesis, it was tried to determine the physical activity preferences and opportunities of the young population living in Çankırı, the perceived quality of open green spaces within the scope of physical activity, their level of satisfaction with open green spaces and the reasons affecting satisfaction. In addition, the relationship between gender and open green spaces was also evaluated. In this context, a face-to-face questionnaire was applied to 400 high school and university students. In line with the data obtained through the survey study, suggestions were made for the characteristics of open green spaces that could encourage physical activity in young people.
