Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to investigate effects of inquiry based learning methods regarding the biology unit Reproduction, growth and living organics' on the students' academic success, scientific process skills and the attitudes toward science and technology. This research used a pre-post test quasi-experiment with control group. It took place in an Izmir?s Primary School in Izmir with sixth grader between 2011 and 2012 school year. The result of the findings showed that there are statistical differences between the experimental group students in inquiry-based learning method and the control group students studying in accordance with 2005 Science and Technology Lesson Curriculum in terms of academic achievement, science process skills and attitudes toward science and technology.It is thought that the usage of inquiry based learning will increase students' achievement and will develop their science process skills and attitudes toward science and technology.
