The study of fictional figure of Donna Lucia D'alvadorez in terms of the musical of Charley's aunt

This study is concerned with the character of "Donna Lucia d'Alvadorez" from the worldwide famous play Charley's Aunt, written in 1892 by Walter Brandon Thomas, an English actor, playwright and songwriter, who also acted in this play. The production was successfully staged throughout the English-speaking world and, in translation, in many other countries, broke the historic record for longest-running play worldwide, and became worldwide famous. It was also transformed into a musical by Oscar Borisovich Feltsman's composition in 1973, and this adaptation was also staged in Turkey. This Musical production was first staged in Turkey on State Conservatory in Adana Cukurova University by Opera-Singing Department on April 21, 2014. This study especially deals with the staging or set-up process of this adaptation, regularly staged by students of first, second, third and fourth years of Cukurova University, and especially the character of "Donna Lucia d'Alvadorez", who I personally played. When it is published, it will be the first Turkish source for this work and it might be helpful if it is taken to the repertoire of the State Opera and Ballet and State Theaters. As far as the content of the study is concerned, in the first part, there is a description and examples of the term "musical", whereas in the second part, the biographies and the works of both Oscar Borisovich Feltsman, the composer, and Walter Brandon, the writer of "Charley's Aunt", are given. As to third part, this section includes the general information about "Charley's Aunt" musical, and the adaptation and the summary of the game, as well as the preparation of the character Donna Lucia d'Alvadorez of the musical, and the harmonic and formal analysis of song performed by this character in the musical.
