Abstract (EN)
In this study, vocabulary portfolio was implemented to investigate the contributions of it to young learners' learning English. Accordingly, the study was implemented in a 5th grade class in Niğde through a case study. The study was conducted with 18 5th grade students in boarding secondary school in the academic year 2014-2015. In order to see the contributions of the vocabulary portfolio, participants composed various tasks in each time. Later on, data qualitative were obtained from teacher's diary, students' reflection papers and open-ended questionnaire. Through these instruments, the researcher was able to follow the whole process step by step. To answer the research question properly, the data were collected in details and then they were analyzed in depth. The findings of this study have shown that vocabulary portfolio enhances learners' motivation and vocabulary gain.
